About Megan
When I became a new mother, I was so happy. But I was also so tired! It was a unique time of indescribable joy and complete exhaustion. In the midst of sleepless nights and baskets full of dirty laundry, I felt a longing deep inside to paint again.
I hadn't painted for years, but one evening, I decided to make the time for it. I set up some old paints beneath the glow of a lamp and painted a small bluebonnet flower.
In that moment, I felt so happy and content, and my smile was extra big as I went to snuggle my baby girl afterward. I was still tired, but everything felt lighter. Painting always makes me feel that way. It’s like the cherry on top of my already wonderful, blessed life.
Since then, I’ve tried to make time to paint every day, usually during my daughter’s nap. My art is deeply connected to my desire to cherish small moments. Some of my favorite moments in life are the walks we take as a family, making dirt soup in the backyard with my daughter, and weekly date nights with my husband.
I love capturing feelings of joy (even in the midst of hardship) through paint, and creating pieces that bring texture, beauty, and meaning into other people’s homes.
